Open data is changing the way governments and citizens interface around the world. From municipalities tracking potholes to NASA observing asteroids, governments are making data public and consumable at an unprecedented rate. As a result, tech innovators have the opportunity to seek out commercial applications while providing solutions to their communities with the potential to save lives and resources. Today’s panel includes several of Indiana’s most prominent open data advocates: Bree Baxter with Interactive Intelligence, Cory Gackenheimer with Healthx and Matt Kirby with the Indy Chamber – plus the winning team from Indy Civic Hack Day, Indy’s first open data hackathon.
